Quimbayas: Ancestors of the Present is a sensory immersion experience in which, inspired by the cosmogonies and traditions of the pre-Hispanic Quimbaya tradition, we present the legacy and relevance of this culture within contemporary Colombia. Aromas, soundscapes, textures, and poetic games intermingle in an interactive and experiential journey, within which sacred spaces evoke symbolic elements such as the poporo, the underworld, the importance of women, and death. We propose an innovative, lyrical and dreamlike event, in which each spectator experiences first-hand the emotions of a journey of appropriation, transformation and rediscovery.
This creation won a creation and dissemination grant from the Colombian Institute of Anthropology and History (ICANH) in 2025. It has had two successful seasons, one in October and November 2025, and another in February 2026.
